Key achievements: Significant milestones or accomplishments
(a). The Academic Planning Unit has consistently published the Pocket Statistics and the Annual Reports for years and these are distributed to relevant academic and non-academic Units in the University for some necessary information about the university. They are also given as souvenirs to visitors.
(b) Programme accreditation exercises by the NUC have been diligently pursued in past years. In 2019, all 59 programmes presented for accreditation were given full accreditation except two which have been re-presented two years later and given the full accreditation status. Apart from the major accreditation exercise in 2019, accreditation exercises have been conducted and the programmes were given full status except Medical Laboratory Science which was given Interim accreditation. In 2024, the university again presented 57 academic programmes for accreditation while four (4) other new programmes were presented for Resource verification. Fifty-four (54) of the 57 programmes had FULL accreditation status while 3 had Interim accreditation. All 4 programmes presented for resource verification were approved and expected to start in the 2025/2026 academic session.
(c) The Unit has over the years provided adequate support for academic staff training (Needs Assessment and TETFund, Conference attendance, Book publications, Research funding (IBR and NRF), and Unit staffing and Infrastructure.
(d) The Unit has pursued with diligence the expansion of programmes and establishment of
